Tag Out at work

The Tag Out Trust works alongside the Waitakere City Council assisting work places in removing graffiti from their community.

Removal Programmes The trust is involved in a number of removal projects. Primarily graffiti should be removed as soon as possible after it occurs. The key elements of removal are:
  • Provision of a council hot line for assistance (Waitakere City Council: phone 09 839-0400)
  • Extensive removal contracts
  • Use of volunteers in removal activities
  • Removal from residential properties at no cost thanks to sponsorship from Portage and Waitakere Trusts (The Trusts)
Although the Tag Out Trust removes graffiti from shopping centres and arterial routes, bus stops and parks, the involvement of the community is seen as complementary to this service. Therefore the trust encourages work places to take ownership for removal from individual, community, work or public spaces through the following programmes:

Self Help Removal Find out how to get free paint to remove tagging. Tag Out Trust aims to assist businesses whose properties have been tagged, making it possible for them to remove graffiti from their premises quickly.

Adopt a Spot By 'adopting a spot' volunteers from a workplace will receive a graffiti removal kit (paint, brushes, wet paint tape) to keep their site graffiti free.
